As educators, we work very hard, face many challenges, and do not always prioritize taking care of ourselves (as we are so busy taking care of our students!). But, as writer Eleanor Brown puts it: “Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
As Wolfpack WORKS coaches, administrators, and educators, we, too, need to prioritize taking care of ourselves so that we can better serve our teachers and their students. One way to take care of ourselves is to spend time away from work together…and include our families and friends in our out-of-work activities! So, last weekend, we had a wonderful time as a Wolfpack WORKS family at a “painting party” and at a cookout with a hayride!
We encourage you to prioritize taking care of yourself! Teaching is hard work. Practicing self-care is a necessity. We hope our photos inspire you to take the first step to be good to yourself…and to enjoy time away from school with your colleagues, friends, and family.
